Stephanie and The Sunflower Field
About
Stephanie and the Sunflower Field is inspired by a true story which tells the story of a twelve-year-old Stephanie Jenkins who has always loved sunflowers. They remind her to look toward the light just like her mom says even on the hardest days. But deep inside, Stephanie carries a quiet ache she can’t explain. The feeling that something, or someone, has always been missing.
When her class takes a field trip to a sunflower field, Stephanie drifts into a dream that feels more like destiny. There, she meets Steven, the twin brother she lost before birth the brother she’s always felt watching over her. In this golden world between heaven and earth, she experiences the love, laughter, and unbreakable bond of twinhood that she never got to live on earth.
Through their time together, Steven helps Stephanie see the truth of who she is a girl created with both of their purpose, both of their light. And he reminds her that though he must return to heaven, she will never be alone, because God has sent her little sister, Shawntae, to love, protect, and share life with her.
Stephanie and the Sunflower Field is a deeply moving story about sibling love that transcends time, the sacred connection between twins, and the special purpose of every child, even those born after loss. It shows how family, faith, and love can heal the heart and reveal that every bond, seen or unseen, is eternal.
For anyone who has ever felt different, broken, or incomplete, Stephanie’s journey is a gentle reminder that you are whole, you are chosen, and you are loved beyond measure.
